USA Political Prisoners

The USA, like China, has political prisoners. This 70-year-old attorney was jailed 14 months without being charged with a crime. His offense was to speak out about court corruption and judicial bribes:

"I ended up here because I did the one thing no other lawyer in California is willing to do. I took on the corruption of the courts," Fine said in a jailhouse interview with CNN.

For the last decade, Fine has filed appeal after appeal against Los Angeles County's Superior Court judges. He says the judges each accept what he calls yearly "bribes" from the county worth $57,000. That's on top of a $178,789 annual salary, paid by the state. The county calls the extra payments "supplemental benefits" -- a way to attract and retain quality judges in a high-cost city.

Bankers Get To Buy Our Cheap Houses

After the US taxpayer bailed out the banks, the banks have continued to foreclose on the taxpayer's homes. The losses on those homes have been transferred to the government (the people) via Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The federal government is going to sell those homes, in bulk, back to the bank for pennies on the dollar.

The giant financial scam continues:
The largest transfer of wealth from the public to private sector is about to begin. The federal government will be bulk-selling the massive portfolio of foreclosed homes now owned by HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to private investors -- vulture funds.

These homes, which are now the property of the U.S. government, the U.S. taxpayer, U.S. citizens collectively, are going to be sold to private investor conglomerates at extraordinarily large discounts to real value.

You and I will not be allowed to participate.

Aristocracy Gets $1.2 Trillion Taxpayer Secret Loans

The private cartel central bank "Federal Reserve" could have paid everyone's mortgage. Instead they bailed out their banker friends.

Wall Street Aristocracy Got $1.2 Trillion in Secret Loans
Fed Chairman Ben S. Bernanke’s unprecedented effort to keep the economy from plunging into depression included lending banks and other companies as much as $1.2 trillion of public money, about the same amount U.S. homeowners currently owe on 6.5 million delinquent and foreclosed mortgages.

...

“These are all whopping numbers,” said Robert Litan, a former Justice Department official who in the 1990s served on a commission probing the causes of the savings and loan crisis. “You’re talking about the aristocracy of American finance going down the tubes without the federal money.”

Airport Body Scanners Useless

German authorities have found that full-body scanners are useless. In the USA, the scanner roll-out continues because the device manufacturers make a lot of money selling the scanners.

Airport body scanners useless: German police
Body scanners being tested at Germany's Hamburg airport have had a thumbs down from the police, who say they trigger an alarm unnecessarily in seven out of 10 cases, a newspaper said Saturday.

"All Natural" Corn Syrup

Corn syrup as a sweetener is hardly "all natural". Breyer's "Homemade" "All Natural" ice cream contains corn syrup.

Justice Department Aids Cocaine Smuggling

Documents filed in a court case in Chicago allege the US Justice Department conspired with Mexican drug cartels to allow "tons" of cocaine to enter the US. With the government allegedly conspiring to allow drug running, why bother with any drug laws? Apparently drug laws don't apply to the US government.
The cartel is accused of murders, gunrunning, drug smuggling, bribery of public officials and attacks on police.

The Justice Department gave the Sinaloa cartel’s leaders “carte blanche to continue to smuggle tons of illicit drugs into Chicago and the rest of the United States,” according to pre-trial documents filed by Zambada’s attorneys.

Higher Radiation Leaks In Japan

The radiation leaking from the broken nuclear power plants in Japan is getting worse.  There has been little action to stop the leaks which will contaminate the air, the land, and the oceans.  It seems most Americans have already forgotten about the radiation problem in Japan.

Geiger counters, used to detect radioactivity, registered more than 10 sieverts an hour, the highest reading the devices are able to record, Junichi Matsumoto, a general manager at the utility, said today. The measurements were taken at the base of the main ventilation stack for reactors No. 1 and No. 2.

Katrina Victims

Families and friends of those murdered by police in the wake of the Katrina hurricane finally saw criminal convictions.  When government employees with guns commit murder, who can you trust?
A FEDERAL JURY in the US has convicted five current or former police officers of involvement in deadly shootings on a New Orleans bridge after Hurricane Katrina.

All five officers were convicted of charges stemming from the cover-up of the shootings. Local news station WDSU reports that four of the defendants were convicted of civil rights violations.

There is widespread belief that police cover up their illegal actions. If those who enforce the law can't be trusted, societal norms can rapidly break down. This is of great concern to those who desire to live in a society based on the rule of law.
Faulcon, Gisevius, Bowen and Villavaso were convicted in the shootings and with taking part in the alleged cover-up. Kaufman, who investigated the shootings, was charged only in the alleged cover-up.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Theodore Carter said in closing arguments earlier this week that police had no justification for shooting unarmed, defenseless people trying to cross the bridge in search of food and help mere days after Katrina struck.

Faulcon, the only defendant to testify, said he was “paralyzed with fear” when he shot and killed a 40-year-old mentally disabled man, Ronald Madison, as he chased him and his brother, Lance Madison.

Faulcon didn’t dispute that he shot an unarmed man in the back, but he testified that he had believed Ronald Madison was armed and posed a threat.

Polar Bear Population Increases

Global warming alarmists have claimed the polar bears will die due to melting ice.  A US government agency has found the worldwide polar bear population has increased.  With the global warming extremists turn down their rhetoric?

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service estimates that the polar bear population is currently at 20,000 to 25,000 bears, up from as low as 5,000-10,000 bears in the 1950s and 1960s.

Scottish scientist Dr. Chad Dick, of the Norwegian Polar Institute in Tromso, after researching the log books of Arctic explorers spanning the past 300 years, believes the outer edge of sea ice may expand and contract over regular periods of 60 to 80 years. According to his research findings, he concluded, "the recent worrying changes in Arctic sea ice are simply the result of standard cyclical movements, and not a harbinger of major climate change."

USPS Loses $3.5 Billion

The US Postal Service, a government monopoly with their own police force, lost $3.5 billion this quarter.  Everywhere one looks, big government is failing.

“Given current trends, we will not be able to pay all 2011 obligations ..." said the Postal Service’s Chief Financial Officer.

Breast Removed, No Cancer

The cancer industry's unethical "burn cut poison" is being exposed as a fraud.

Another Swede's breast removed in vain
A woman had one of her breasts removed in south central Sweden and was told after surgery that she did not have breast cancer. This makes it the nation’s third such case during July.

Home-Brew Nuclear

Swede held for building nuclear reactor in his kitchen
Swedish police have detained a 31-year-old man in Ängelholm in western Sweden who was discovered after he sought advice from authorities on the legality of building a nuclear reactor in a domestic kitchen.

Global Warming Alarmism

This article, published by the University of Alabama, describes analysis of NASA data and concludes that global warming assumptions are incorrect.

A University of Alabama press release says climate change forecasts are wrong:
The previously unexplained differences between model-based forecasts of rapid global warming and meteorological data showing a slower rate of warming have been the source of often contentious debate and controversy for more than two decades.
...
"The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show," Spencer said. "There is a huge discrepancy between the data and the forecasts that is especially big over the oceans."
Not only does the atmosphere release more energy than previously thought, it starts releasing it earlier in a warming cycle.
