Covid-19 Vaccine Injury Claims Using Special Limited Process

The vaccine injury tribunal is funded by a per-dose tax, which allows vaccine manufacturers to avoid product injury lawsuits. The tribunal has procedures for reviewing claims, including documentation of a healthy patient before administration of vaccines.

For Covid-19, the standard vaccine injury tribunal is not being used. Instead, the little-known Countermeasure Injury Compensation Program is used to deny claims for payment.

A ‘black hole’ for COVID vaccine injury claims

As RenĂ©e Gentry, director of the Vaccine Injury Litigation Clinic at the George Washington University Law School put it, COVID vaccine claimants have two rights: “You have the right to file,” she said. “And you have the right to lose.”

... almost no one gets anything. Since the program’s inception in 2010, only 29 claims have been paid, with an average payout of around $200,000. (Ten additional claims won approval but were deemed ineligible for compensation.) The other 452 claims -- 91.4% -- were denied.
